LIE DOWN & LISTEN Tanja Zapolski
Tanja Zapolski is one of the most talented pianists in Denmark's classical music scene.
Since her debut in 2008, she has recevied a tonne of praise for her intense and expressive piano playing. No style or context is too narrow, unusual or mainstream for Tanja Zapolski, whose repertoire ranges from baroque or romantic to pop and electronics.
Her open-minded and curious approach to music has led her to play in many surprising constellations and now also NJORD 2020's late night concert concept LIE DOWN & LISTEN.
In the evening, Tanja Zapolski will play festival composer Lasse Thoresen's three piano pieces Invocation of Pristine Light, Invocation of Raising Air and Invocation of Crystal Waters, Claude Debussy's Images II and Pernille Sejlund's Water Crystal.
Together, they invite a serious meditation into the depths of nature which transform impressionistically into rippling passages and trills.
LIE DOWN & LISTEN
LIE DOWN & LISTEN is a new concert concept at the NJORD Biennale. The wish is to create an informal and audience-engaging space to experience and listen to compositional music in. There will be rows of chairs and numbered seats together with mattresses, soft cushions and cafe style chairs and tables. Join us and explore the music from new angles.
VOCAL CONCERT with Nordic Voices and Berit Opheim.
It is also possible to attend the Late Night concert with Tanja Zapolski if you purchase a ticket for the vocal concert LAND OF YOUR LOVE, which is scheduled earlier the same night at the NJORD Biennale.
