Jesper Sivebæk



Jesper Sivebaek trained at The Academy of Music in Southern Denmark with associate professor Jørgen Bjørslev and at the Université Quebec in Montreal with Professor Alvaro Pierri. He graduated from the soloist class of the Malmö Academy of Music in Sweden under Professor Per-Olof Johnsson.

He has won prizes in international solo guitar competitions, including: Certamen Internacional di Guitarra Francisco Tarrega in Benicasim, Spain; Concours International de Guitarre in Carpentras, France; and Incontri Chitarristici di Gargnano, Italy.

He is also co-founder of the Scandinavian Guitar Duo which won the Danish Broadcasting Association’s Chamber Music Competition in 1993.

He has been soloist with Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Randers Chamber Players, Aarhus Sinfonietta, The Danish National Symphony Orchestra. 

Jesper Sivebaek has held the position of associate professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen since 2007. He has also been a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Malmö Academy of Music in Sweden. Academy of Music in Tallinn.

Jesper Sivebæk kan opleves lørdag d. 30. januar på NJORD New Nordic Music Biennale.


NJORD Biennale is Copenhagen's new nordic biennial for contemporary music and contemporary art. In various cross artistic projects, the relationship between the tonal colours of music and the colour tones of visual art are being examined through concerts, exhibits, a separate children´s programme, seminars and lectures.
